This painting shows what looks like a mountain range... only instead of the traditional views of the mountains, the mountains are layered with brightly colored rocks and slabs. I like this painting because it shows the base shapes of mountains, but the colors are vastly different from what they are in real life.

I like this painting not only because it is pretty, but also because it can hold several different meanings. It could look like orange light was reflecting off of a body of water. Another interpretation could be that the bright lights are a part of a big city and are penetrating into the land around it. This painting holds a perfect blend of colors, but enough uncertainty to keep the view questioning.

This painting shows a snowy mountain in the winter. It doesn't look very different or abstract, but the mountain looks like it has been cut away to reveal the many layers of rock below. The rock layers are multicolored, with each one representing a different color. I like this painting because the abstraction is on the inside of the painting, not on the outside like it usually is.

This piece of abstract art resembles a mirror that has been broken in several places and has several pieces missing. The silver has come off, leaving some rustic looking, run down object. This painting appears abstract because it shows the many stages of the mirror as it begins to deteriorate. The top part of the mirror looks untouched and normal, but as you move farther down, it deteriorates more and more.

This painting shows what looks like multi-colored sound waves moving across the black canvas. The colors are mostly reds and yellows, which displays warmth. The artist could be conveying a feeling of happiness and gladness through their art. I like this because the viewer does not know what it is, so it is widely open for interpretation.

This abstract painting shows a leafless tree with a mixture of blues in the background. The background features a swirl of white, all shades of blue, and black that circles around the tree. This painting is ambiguous because the background is unclear to the viewer. The dark swirl could either represent either group of storm clouds or a sunrise. When the sun rises, the sky is still dark. But as it ascends the skies, it creates intense light around the sun. The painting is more likely to represent the clouds of a storm that is rolling over a tree. I like this painting because it is unclear to the viewer.

This abstract painting shows a leafless tree. However, the bright background is unclear. It looks like the tree is on fire and burning into the night sky, as the brightest point of the painting is in the center of the tree. The bright background could also represent sunset. When the sun sets, it creates a variety of colors in the sky. The reds, yellows, and blues, represents the colors of the setting sun. I like this painting because it is bright, and because of the fact that the viewer does not know what the painting is.

This abstract painting features four rings of fire with a man inside the rings. The rings are shooting off sparks into the air, but the person seems unharmed inside them. I like this painting because the rings are bright and pop out at you.

This abstract painting depicts dark grey/black swirls over a lighter grey background. The swirls look interwoven and looked connected. If you look closely enough, the swirls look like human heads, implying a dark or demonic feeling to this piece. I like this because it is subtle, but has intricate detail if you look close enough.

This is an abstract painting by Wendy White. I dont like it very much because it lacks detail and I have no idea what she means by "pick up a knock". Reed Dobbs, a fellow student, made the following remarks regarding this piece: "it looks truly awful". He definitely shows displeasure in his views of this painting.
